Designing a custom home means making decisions on every detail in the house, from layout configurations and architectural style to cabinet colors and shower drains. Sarah and Nick Karakaian, known as the Nestrs, recently went through this process in their Columbus, Ohio home, affectionately named Elsa’s Cottage after the longtime previous tenant.
It took nearly three years for the Nestrs to renovate Elsa’s Cottage. As they worked room by room, they found themselves wanting to bring new ideas to their ensuite bathrooms. Incorporating classic materials and modern colors, they custom-built showers which gave the spaces an upscale look while presenting a unique challenge.
The specific dimensions of their showers required drains as custom as the designs themselves. In each of the three bathrooms, Sarah and Nick incorporated Infinity Drain’s luxury Tile Insert Linear Drains to facilitate water runoff while maintaining the cohesive look of each shower flooring. Each Tile Insert Linear Drain was custom designed not only to fit in the allotted space but also to match the color and texture of the tile Sarah and Nick chose.
“These drains seamlessly blend form and function, elevating the entire bathroom,” state Sarah and Nick. “The low-profile drains make a big impact in our space and incorporating Infinity Drain into our ensuite bathrooms was a decision we’ll never regret. We love that Infinity Drain allows our tile to hold center stage while offering functionality. Though, ask any of our friends and family, and they will tell you that Infinity Drain is the center of attention on all of our home tours!”
In a residential setting, low-profile drains are of the utmost importance for barrier free and universal design.
“These drains have a low-profile design, reducing tripping hazards and providing a smooth transition from the shower floor to the drain,” the Nestrs said.
The ease of installation and maintenance also appealed to Sarah and Nick, who own multiple residential and rental properties.
With priorities set on personalized style and uninterrupted aesthetics, Sarah and Nick completed their house renovation just in time for their family to enjoy this homey oasis.
