A few easy steps to making your bathroom more eco-friendly
We know how important it is to reduce our overall carbon footprint at home, but where to start can feel overwhelming. The good news is that there are many changes you can make throughout your entire house that make a big difference.
Let’s focus on one of the most used rooms in the house, the bathroom. While it may not be the first room you think of to get started on your eco-friendly journey, we’re here to help! From adding in energy efficient-lighting to discontinuing the use of harsh chemical cleaners, below are a few easy steps you can take to make your bathroom more eco-friendly and reduce its overall carbon footprint.
Incorporate Sustainable Brands
When renovating or updating your bathroom, remember to research sustainable products, and take the time to find brands that make a positive impact on the environment.
At Infinity Drain, our products are proudly manufactured in our Amityville, New York facility, with all raw materials sourced domestically. Our products also use recycled stainless steel in order to save raw materials and produce stainless steel cost-efficiently. Because of this, our stainless steel averages 91.2% recycled content. Using recycled material reduces the amount of surplus steel scrap in landfills, giving it a new life.

Limit the Use of Harsh Chemicals and Cleaners
Cleaning your bathroom with harsh chemicals, leads to those chemicals being released into the water system. We recommend using all-natural, non-toxic cleaning solutions or steam-cleaning options which rely on heat and pressure to do the work of harsh chemicals.
We also recommend wet room and all-in-one bath/shower designs. In a wet room, the drain transitions from being a shower drain to a floor drain, allowing for the entire area to be easily sprayed down for cleaning. Infinity Drain’s linear drains are the perfect addition to any wet room as they provide a seamless transition from one area in the bathroom to the next.
Energy-Efficient Lighting
Switching to energy-efficient lighting is a fast and easy change that not only saves you money, it improves your home’s efficiency. LED lightbulbs are the perfect substitute as they are long-lasting, cost-effective, and mercury-free.
Ditch Single-Use Bottles
The prevalence of single-use bottles has made it increasingly difficult to live a sustainable lifestyle—especially in the bathroom. Luckily, many personal care brands have started to use eco-friendly and recycled packaging. Some brands have taken it one step further by offering refillable packaging and product refills, allowing you to use their containers over and over again.
